Today.. This week.. Patterns are inspiring us. Especially ones that ooze and scream.. HELLO WARM WEATHER! We can picture the above patterns a million different places in our homes.. on our walls, on our couches, on our plates, on our table tops, on our desks.. heck even on us! Something about the ease, design elements and vibe each one gives off just speaks to us today. Do you love them too? Which one would you say you are most drawn to?

Did anyone else watch The Office finale last night?
Gosh.
Tears.. Smiles.. Laughs.. Tears.
There was one quote that stuck out to us from the whole finale episode.. “I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you left them…” Whoa. Isn’t that the truth? How many times have we been in these weeks, months or years… stressed, anxious, or always awaiting the next better thing.. something more. Perhaps it’s a big move, a new job, growing as a person, taking some sort of leap.. that we are so consumed at what is coming next… that we fail to see how amazing right now is. This quote really shook it up for us last night.. and we hope to try to relish in these good old days while we are in them.. Lord knows we are.. you know that right? There is going to be a day years from now that you look back at right this second and say gosh… “those were the good old days..” So go on and enjoy them… right now.

Oh me, oh my! We will take one of everything from our newest DOTD brandMOJO Interiors…PLEASE and THANK YOU! Scott and Marisa of brandMOJO create B-E-A-UTIFUL custom furniture, which is handcrafted one at a time at their shop in North Carolina. The fabulous couple met in Portland, OR and after eight years, relocated to North Carolina on a whim. Where they own and operate their small business, named after their four-legged daughter, Mojo. They use only sustainable materials, and all of their solid wood pieces are created with reclaimed barn lumber and wood milled from storm fallen trees. Many of their gorgeous creations are salvaged vintage industrial pieces, re-purposed as furniture. Seriously…we couldn’t be more in love. Follow them on facebook, and peruse their shop. We’re sure you’re heart will stop for at least one of their amazing one of a kind pieces. Ours sure did.

Brace yourselves for some major cuteness, guys! Our newest Designer of the Day, Sarah of Dreaming of Dandelions, is serving it up…left and right. Sarah started her creative journey as a youngster and continues it today as a stay at home mom of two. She taught herself to sew, and it was love at first stitch. Combine that with her fondness for fashion and you end up with some pretty fabulous creations. Sarah started out creating things for herself, and realized that it was just the creative outlet she needed…and so Dreaming of Dandelions was created. And OH MY GOSH! We are drooling over here at her clutches, and pouches and totes…OH MY! She adds just the right amount of modern, vintage and classic style to create some truly fun and beautiful pieces that we just want to get our grubby little hands all over! What’re you waiting for? ..this Monday, as we approach the start of a new month and the extended warmth & sunshine on our faces… we can’t help but be inspired by our front porch views. If you think about it, so much inspiration can come from a new perspective, a differing angle, or even an old swing that brings back the sweetest memories.. we think this week is the perfect time to spice up the forward facing view and make it into anything your mind can imagine.. you only live once, it might as well be how you like it.
Meet our DOTD… Kristen Solecki!
SERIOUSLY…Who doesn’t love a great piece of art that just makes you smile? Yeah…we couldn’t think of anyone either. That’s why we are TOTALLY IN LOVE with our Designer of the Day, Kristen Solecki! This fun and unique artist uses inspiration from everyday life, and then takes it to a whole new level with her use of strong, changeable line work. Kristen’s first introduction to art was through the illustrations found in children’s books…can you say foreshadowing? Growing up her school lacked a decent art program, so her mom drove her to private art classes after school every week for 12 years, WITHOUT FAIL! Umm hellooo…AWESOME MOM ALERT! After receiving her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia she trekked it down to Charleston, where you can find her art on display all around town. We just adore everything she does, from her quirky illustrations of everyday objects to her unique and oh so fun approach to custom portraits. We got to thinking about baby decor.. the current season.. and being.. well, different. As you can probably tell, we think different is beautiful! When we thought a little further about decorating your little one’s nursery.. we started to realize you can pull from any direction you like.. even if it doesn’t scream BABY! We love these real life photo prints from our sweet dear friend Lisa, from Nostalgia Captured.. are they not gorgeous? What room couldn’t use a pop of color, life and uniqueness as with these? You know.. in this case.. you wouldn’t have to change the room once the little one.. isn’t so little. We know how fast that happens, right? What do you think? ..today? Oh calligraphy inspires us today you guys. The age old art.. the gorgeous passion behind it.. the unique and custom touches.. calligraphy inspires us today. Perhaps it is due to Wedding season arriving.. the warm Spring breezes.. the sunlight sticking around longer.. the handmade goodness that oozes from it all.. whatever it may be, we welcome the inspiration with open arms and hope these warm weather months are as beautiful as this intricate art form so many of our designers have mastered. Kudos guys… er, maybe gals, you are talented.

Oh goodness.. your home is going to thank you soon guys! Meet Adonna and Jan.. an amazing duo who found a love of handmade goodness and just went with it! When Jan’s dad had to tear down their 125-year-old barn… Jan couldn’t stand the thought of all that beautiful, weathered wood going to the landfill or burn pile. With the encouragement of the sweet Adonna, they gathered some of the wood, collected a stash of old “junk”, and started creating! All along Adonna was designing stunning calligraphy and soon they were transformed into the gorgeous decals they now boast today.. pretty amazing right? We love everything about Old Barn Rescue Co.. the passion, one of a kind designs, home’like feel.. and how their designs help make your home… YOURS. Not much could be better, right?
